Are you 18-30 and want to save the planet? Submit a 3-minute video for a chance to be a youth reporter at the UN Climate Conference, in Chile in December 2019. Young people from around the world are welcome to showcase their actions. Further,  to combat climate change by submitting a video to the fifth edition of the Global Youth Video Competition. In 2019, the Video Competition is jointly organized to broaden the scope of entries. Also, mobilize the global youth along the lines of the Global Climate Action Summit called in September by the United Nations Secretary-General, António Guterres.

Moreover, It is led by the Secretariats of the three environmental conventions, the United Nations Climate Change (UNFCCC), Convention on Biological Diversity (UNCBD), and also, the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD), in partnership with the Global Environment Facility-United Nations Development Programme Small Grants Programme (UNDP/GEF SGP), Television for Environment (tve) and BNP Paribas Foundation. Further, The short-listed videos will be shown through the Youth Climate Report map. Also, This year, the fifth edition of the video competition aims to mobilize global youth around the Climate Action Summit organized in September by the United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres. Categories

This year’s Global Youth Video Competition is into 3 categories:

  • Firstly, Cities and local action to combat climate change;
  • Secondly, Nature-based solutions for food and human health;
  • lastly, Balancing use of land for people and ecosystems.

Each Convention is responsible for one of the three categories. One winner will be chose from each category.

Benefit

  • The final three winners will be coming to attend the UN Climate Change Conference in Santiago, Chile (COP 25).
  • Their videos will be in front of a global audience, and the winners will be getting the opportunity to work with the UN Climate Change’s communications team covering highlights of COP25.

Eligibility

  • The video should be up to 3 minutes long;
  •  aged between 18 and 30;
  • Spoken or subtitled English;
  • Entries can be from any country
