The annual Film Festival on Human Rights this human world (thw) will hold the Short Film Competition on Human Rights 2019 under the auspices of the United Nations Information Service (UNIS) Vienna and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Austria in cooperation with schools in Austria, Slovenia, Hungary, and Slovakia. UN invites students, as a class or individually, to develop short films inspired by the articles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. The theme of this year’s competition is “Stand up for our planet”.
With this Short Film Competition, the United Nations aims to bring human rights and the international declaration of human rights with its 30 articles topics closer to young people, giving students an opportunity for critical reflection on these issues and offering a platform for young committed filmmakers to present their work.
The application process for the United Nations Short Film Competition comprises two phases. In the first phase, the students/participants must register for the competition. The registration process may be completed via email before the registration deadline.

The second phase will require the students to submit their Short movie project before the entry deadline. entrants must e-mail the short film they wish to enter the competition.
A prominent international jury will assess the short movie as well as award the Jury Prize. Further, the movie will be shown in the framework of a movie night within the international film festival this human world.
The deadline for the United Nations Short Film Competition is 21 June 2019. While the deadline to submit the film entries for the competition is 8 November 2019.
