In its 19th year, Wergle Flomp seeks best humor poem for its Poetry Contest. Hence it calls out to poets all over the world to submit their best humor versed poem. The poems may be published or unpublished piece of work. Further, there is a total prize of $2,550 for the winners of this poetry competition.

Wergle Flomp Humor Poetry Contest Prize

A panel of Jury will review the submitted poems for the Wergle Flomp Poetry Contest and elect a first prize and a second prize winner. Further, the jury will also select up to 10 Honorable Mentions. The winners, as well as honorable mentions, will receive cash awards.

• The first prize winner will receive a cash amount of $1,000 plus a two-year gift certificate from the co-sponsor, Duotrope (a $100 value)
• The second prize winner will receive a cash amount of $250
• Ten Honorable Mentions will receive the award of $100 each
• Further, the top 12 entries including first and second prize winners and ten honorable mentions will be featured on the website.

Who is eligible for the International Poetry Contest?

The Wergle Flomp Humor Poetry Competition is open for poets of all age. Further, there is no restriction regarding the participant’s nationality. However, the contest is not valid in countries including Syria, Iran, North Korea, and Crimea.

Further, the Wergle Flomp Contest is free for contestants to enter. Contestants, however, may enter only one poem in the competition. Further, the poem should be no more than 250 lines, written in English.

How to submit poems at Wergle Flomp Humor Poetry Contest?

In order to submit the poem in the Wergle Flomp Humor Poetry Competition the candidates, at first, should meet the eligibility criteria. Only then, can a candidate submit in the poetry competition. In order to make a submission, the candidates should register for an account at Winningwriters. Next, the candidates should provide basic information regarding their contact details. Finally, the candidates can upload and submit their poems as a text document.

Deadline

Participants and poets can apply for the Wergle Flomp Humor Poetry Competition until 1 April 2020. Applications arriving after the deadline are not eligible for the competition.
