Applications for the Young Audiences Music Awards(YAMawards) 2023 are now open. The YAMawards are the international music awards that honour creativity and innovation in Young Audiences Music productions. Since the YAMawards launched in 2008 only the best of the best in Young Audiences Music productions have prevailed. The level of craft, depth of storytelling and passion inherent to each finalist and winner, a testament to what it takes to truly engage and inspire young minds.

The international awards honour creativity and innovation in the field of musical productions for young audiences, celebrating the art of connecting young people and children with music and culture in ways that inspire, enlighten and delight.

Categories of Young Audiences Music Awards

The YAMawards 2023 will feature six different categories, each with its own winner:

• Best Small Ensemble – for Young Audiences Award
• Best Large Ensemble – for Young Audiences Award (Groups of 8+ / Orchestras / Etc)
• Best Opera – for Young Audiences Award
• Best School Concert – for Young Audiences Award
• Best Participatory Project – with Young Audiences Award (Projects where the participation of young audiences / the process are the main focus)
• Public Choice Award (selected from the top 4 nominees in each category, by public vote)

Prizes from Young Audiences Music Awards

YAMawards winners will receive cash prizes in the following categories:

• Best Small Ensemble for Young Audiences: €1,000
• Best Large Ensemble for Young Audiences: €1,000
• Best Opera for Young Audiences: €1,000 (Powered by RESEO)
• Best School Concert for Young Audiences: €1,000
• Best Participation Project with Young Audiences: €1,000
• Public Choice Award: €1,000

Each nominee’s representative will be invited to the YAMawards Ceremony on November 10, in Sao Paulo/Tetui, Brazil.

Eligibility

• All soloists, groups, ensembles or ochestras producing live music for audiences under 18 years of age are welcome to participate.
• Entries will be analyzed and judged based on the quality of music, the quality of performance, the relevance/necessity of the program, audience communication and international touring potential.

Application of Young Audiences Music Awards

YAMawards entries must be submitted by May 15, 23:59 CET. On October 10, 2023, the nominations for the 2023 YAMawards will be announced online (on the YAMawards website) and open for public voting. Voting will close on November 10, 2023 at 20:00 CET.
