New Architecture Writers (NAW) is a free programme for emerging design writers, developing the journalistic skill, editorial connections and critical voice of its participants.

NAW focuses on people of colour who are under-represented across design journalism and curation.

Brief for NAW

NAW Participant’s brief is to write a short article on a contemporary issue for an architectural audience. Your brief should tell a story in a way that informs and engages the reader. You should also identify a specific subject with relevance to architecture and draw out stimulating conclusions.

Moreover, your word count is just 500 words, so concision is key.

Eligibility

  • The programme is only for people of colour
  • Applicants must be under 30
  • Participants should also be based in London.
  • anyone interested in developing their architectural writing practice.
  • Moreover, applicants need neither journalistic experience nor pursue a career in journalism.
  • be able to commit to meeting roughly one evening per fortnight.
  • In addition, applicants have to be able to complete written briefs, which will be in every six weeks throughout the programme.
