Fully Funded Nuremberg Summer Academy in Germany
The International Nuremberg Principles Academy invites young practitioners (prosecutors, judges and investigating magistrates) and young academics working in the field of international criminal law to apply for the 2018 edition of the Nuremberg Summer Academy for Young Professionals which will be held in Nuremberg, Germany, from 6 to 17 August 2018.
The Nuremberg Summer Academy for Young Professionals gives participants the possibility to acquire or deepen their knowledge of substantive and procedural aspects of international criminal law. Guided by our faculty of leading international experts and practitioners, they will also acquire practical knowledge on all aspects relating to the investigation, prosecution and adjudication of core international crimes (crimes against humanity, war crimes and genocide). They will also have the opportunity to participate in study visits to the Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial Site, the Documentation Center Nazi Party Rally Grounds, the Memorium Nuremberg Trials and the historic Courtroom 600 of the Nuremberg Palace of Justice in Nuremberg.
The International Nuremberg Principles Academy will provide scholarships to selected applicants covering all costs including visa expenses, flights, travel insurance, full board and lodging, daily allowance, field trips, and transportation.
The Nuremberg Academy will select participants based on the quality of their application and due consideration given to gender balance and equitable geographic representation. Participants will be selected based on the written application and a Skype interview.
Priority is to be given to young professionals directly involved in (or likely to be directly involved in) the investigation or prosecution of core international crimes, and to young professionals from conflict and post-conflict states.
