European Commission invites application for the fully funded Youth4Regions program. Moreover, the Youth4Regions is the European Commission program helping journalism students and young journalists to discover what the EU is doing in their region. Further, it encourages journalism students and young journalists to learn about Regional Policy and to communicate on concrete projects co-funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and the Cohesion Fund (CF). The specific objectives include:

• Providing the framework as well as conditions for young and future journalists to specialize in Regional Policy
• Further, fostering young journalistic productions to promote knowledge of EU-funded projects (ERDF and CF)
• Likewise, promoting innovative means of covering the European Week of Regions and Cities
• Also, enhancing the links between European institutions and young Europeans

What does Fully Funded Youth4Regions: Aspiring Journalists Program cover?

The Youth4Regions: Aspiring Journalists Program commissioned by the European Commission is fully funded. Hence, it covers all the travel expenses and accommodation of the participants.  Further, the program covers:

• Training on journalism and EU regional policy
• The chance to receive mentorship from established journalists from your country
• Working side by side with renowned journalists during the EU Regions’ Week
• Visits of EU affairs media headquarters and EU institutions
• The unique opportunity to take part as a journalist in European Commission press trips to the Member States
• Accommodation and travel expenses covered by the European Commission

Who are eligible for Fully funded Youth4Regions Journalism Program?

To be eligible for the fully funded Youth4Regions Journalism program, the candidates must demonstrate:

• Interest in what EU regional policy is doing in your region
• Background in journalism (studies or experience)
• EU or neighboring country citizen aged from 18 to 30 years old
• has not participated in previous editions of the Youth4Regions Programme
• Availability during 6 – 11 October

How to apply for Youth4Regions Journalists Program?

Candidates may apply for the fully funded Youth4Regions: Aspiring Journalists Program if they meet the eligibility criteria. Moreover, they can participate in the program by completing the registration available at the website. Further, the candidates must also send:

• a short original article (400-1000 words), or
• a short video (2 – 3 minutes)

The jury will select suitable candidates on the basis of their submission.
