Details

Applications are now open for the Yushan Forum for Young Leaders in Taiwan 2019. The Taiwan-Asia Exchange Foundation (TAEF), is inviting young South and Southeast Asian professionals. Along with,  scholars (ages 25-35) who have a passion for regional development to participate in the annual Yushan Forum. Further, Which is going to be held on October 8 to 9 and Taiwan’s National Day celebrations (October 10).

Moreover, Founded in 2018, the Taiwan-Asia Exchange Foundation (TAEF) is the first policy-oriented think tank in Taiwan with a focus on Southeast Asian and South Asian affairs. In the spirit of the New Southbound Policy (NSP), the goal of the TAEF is to promote comprehensive ties between Taiwan and the 10 ASEAN countries, 6 South Asian states, as well as Australia and New Zealand through cooperation and exchanges in three major fields – including think tanks, non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and young leaders – to consolidate a sense of regional community in Asia and establish long-term cooperative partnerships.
Prospective participants should have an interest in one of the following program themes: inclusive healthcare, agriculture, and food security, civil-society empowerment, technology and innovation, best practices and good governance, cultural diversity, youth leadership, and transnational cooperation networks.

Project Component

  • Participants will be to submit a reflective commentary (1,000 to 1,500 words) on their experience within one (1) week after the conclusion of the activity, preferably touching on at least one of the program themes.

Logistics

  • TAEF will cover the costs of round-trip tickets (economy) and accommodations for the inclusive dates.

Eligibilities

  • 25-35 years of age
  • Further, a citizen of any South or Southeast Asian country
  • Interested in one of the listed program themes (please see link)
  • Also, Has a passport/able to travel
  • An interest in Asian affairs and regional development
