The applications for the Roche Latin America or Gabo Foundation Workshop 2020 have opened. Interested candidates can apply before 30th of January 2020. As part of the eighth edition of the Roche Prize for Health Journalism, Roche Latin America and the Gabo Foundation convene the workshop cycle: ‘The challenge of solutions journalism in the coverage of health issues in Latin America’

For a day and a half, Latin American journalists will work on how to develop journalism of solutions of excellence focused on health issues, with the aim of understanding the essential tools of this journalistic practice. In addition, they will discuss the profile of the practice (what it is and what it is not) as well as its production strategies (tools and techniques), with examples and tips to promote its growth in newsrooms. 

Participants

• In each workshop, up to 16 journalists covering the source of health or economy from Latin American Media can participate.

Cost for the Workshop

The participants will receive the following support after participating in the Gabo Foundation Workshop

• There is no tuition cost.
• Also, the organizers will grant accommodation during the days of the workshops as well as the breakfast.
• Additionally, the organizers provide air fees for cases that require it or reimbursement of land transport for participants from different cities or countries.
• Furthermore, they provide cookie and lunch according to the workshop agenda.
