Applications are now open for the Royal Economic Society’s Annual Conference 2020. Our purpose is to promote the study of economic science. With over 4,000 members worldwide, we are one of the oldest economic associations in the world. Founded as the British Economic Association in 1890, we became the Royal Economic Society upon receiving our Royal Charter in 1902. We are a registered charity and membership is open to anyone who shares our aims and objectives. Our annual report also accounts provide a summary of our financial position and key activities.

Moreover, The Society’s two peer-reviewed journals – The Economic Journal and The Econometrics Journal – contain high quality papers from international authorship. Our popular annual conference provides a forum for research, debate, and networking. We also provide resources for economists also support for education and the training of students, teachers also researchers. Increasingly we are focussed on improving the public understanding of economics through engagement with schools and the wider public.

Benefit

  • Limited financial assistance is available for postgraduate students wanting to attend our Annual Conference. The level of support depends on whether you are presenting a paper at our Conference or not.

Eligibility

  • By submitting a paper to the RES Annual Conference you consent to the RES securely holding details of your submission. Further,  to the conference for a period of no longer than 24 months for the purposes of analysing submissions.
  • You understand submission details will only be pass to members of the Programme Committee.  For the purposes of processing the submissions for acceptance onto the RES Annual Conference.
  • Likewise, As this is an open scientific conference, all accepted papers will be available in the public domain by default. You will, however, be able to update your submission with a more recent version of your paper for submission made through ConferenceMaker.
  • Any personal data which may be submit as part of the submission also selection procedure, will be processed by RES in accordance
