The Massachusetts Clean Energy Center is introducing a Minority and Women-Owned Business Enterprise (MWBE) Support Grants Program in climate critical fields.

This solicitation aims to support the entry, creation, and expansion of MWBEs into fields that are critical to meeting the Commonwealth’s ambitious climate goals of reaching net-zero emissions by 2050.

• Stakeholder outreach and workshops
• MWBE support for planning and implementation grants

At MassCEC’s discretion, applications for Implementation Grants that don’t have enough details for an initial award or need further development may be offered a $50,000 MWBE Support Planning Grant, and if funding is available, an opportunity to reapply in a later round of MWBE Support Implementation Grants.

Eligibility

The applicant with the following conditions:

• Academic institutions with a business support program
• For-profit entities such as clean energy installers, energy efficiency, home performance contractors, technical or workforce training organizations, financial institutions, or other clean energy practitioners. Note: For-profit entities must partner with at least one non-profit entity

Application Procedure

Applications for MWBE Support Implementation Grants must be submitted via email at  [email protected]. The words “MWBE Support Grant Application” must appear in the email subject line.
