ASIA Young Sociopreneurship Leaders Exchange in Hong Kong

ASIA Young Sociopreneur Leaders Exchanges focused specifically on youth will not only provide young people with a positive outlet for their ideas, but it will give them a space for healthy interaction as well as a sense of independence, self-autonomy and competence that acts as a springboard for them to become confident, dedicated change-makers throughout their lives. They will form a network of friends who have similar interests in bringing positive change to their communities.

Eligibility

All applications to become an international youth delegate should be made via online application at http://bit.ly/ayslethaiform (Thailand) & http://bit.ly/ayslehongkongform (Hong Kong). In case the applicant is not able to fill it themselves, a third party may assist them in filling out the application on behalf of them (but not without the knowledge of the applicant).

  1. The international youth delegates will be selected according to these criteria:
    a. Between 18 and 30
    b. Well versed in current national/international development policies
    c. Willing and motivated to prepare their participation at Asia Young Sociopreneurship Leaders Exchange 2018
    d. Willing to ensure follow-up to the Asia Young Sociopreneurship Leaders Exchange 2018 through dissemination of outcomes and taking part in the implementation of the outcome document
  2. The role of youth delegates:
    a. To represent their constituencies during the Asia Young Sociopreneurship Leaders Exchange 2018 and actively take part in the symposium programme.
    b. To actively follow-up the output of Asia Young Sociopreneurship Leaders Exchange 2018.
    c. To raise awareness of social enterprise as a concept among the public at large in the target community, and to encourage members of the community to come up with viable social business ideas – business solutions to real social problems.

d. To give these potential social entrepreneurs the help they require to develop a social business plan that describes how their idea could work.

e. To help successful entrants to access finance and other services required to put their plans into practice.

​f. To provide existing business development service (BDS) institutions currently serving the target community with an awareness and understanding of social enterprise, and with appropriate tools to provide BDS support to social enterprises as well as conventional businesses. In doing so, the intention is that these BDS institutions would be granted an opportunity to expand their service offer as well as increase their developmental impact.
