Asian Youth Friendship Network (AFYN) announces application open for fully funded Winter Japan Culture Camp. Japan Culture Camp is a cultural learning program designed to give an understanding of culture and social awareness for participants. This program enables participants to learn about Japanese culture in line with making a friend directly. This program is also an avenue to enhance knowledge and skill to face globalization. However, the participants should note that this is not a student exchange program. Rather it is a youth and cultural exchange program.

During the program, the selected candidates will participate in numerous activities including:

  1. Cultural tour activities in Kyoto and Osaka, whereby both cities are well known as the center of Japanese culture.
  2. Visit many interesting places both in Kyoto or Osaka, e.g: Osaka castle, Gion District in Kyoto (Geisha), Namba district, Arashiyama, and etc.
  3. Taste authentic Japanese cuisine
  4. Walk around the heritage area of Kyoto.

Why Winter Japan Culture Camp 2020?

The Winter Japan Culture Camp 2020 is a collective experience of cultural exchange. Hence, the participants will attain several benefits from the program which include:

Fully Funded Winter Japan Culture Camp 2020

Additionally, AYFN also provides fully funded scholarship for the Winter Japan Culture Camp. For the Japanese exchange program, the participants will receive a waiver in the program’s fee and travel expense. Candidates will have to go through a rigorous selection process to receive this opportunity. Moreover, AYFN selects the candidates on the basis of merit. Further, AYFN also accepts Self-funded application.

The candidates successful to receive the fully funded scholarship for the Japan Exchange Program will receive:

  • Flight ticket from home country (capital city) to Osaka (Japan) return (economy class).
  • Accommodation (5D4N) in Osaka, Japan.
  • Meal (Breakfast and Lunch)
  • Pick up  (Kansai International Airport, Osaka)
  • All activities indicated on the schedule.
  • Likewise, entrance ticket to tourism spot
  • Local transportation (Train and Bus)
  • E-Certificate of participation from AYFN
  • Program supervision
  • In-country 24/7 volunteer support
  • Also, in-country administration costs

Eligibility for the Winter Japan Culture Camp

The applicants for the fully funded Winter Japan Culture Camp 2020 should have a profile that aligns with the following requirements:

  1. Must be 15 – 35 Years old
  2. All nationalities are welcome to apply
  3. Commit to join the full program
  4. Further, able to adapt new environment easily
  5. Likewise, able to pay the registration fee
  6. Health physically and mentally

How to apply this opportunity

To apply for the fully funded Japan Exchange Program, the candidates must register for the program. Further, for the registration, the candidates must pay a non-refundable fee:

  • Non-member of AYFN: USD 15
  • Member of AYFN: USD 10

Along with that, the candidates will also require to prepare the necessary documentation, which includes:

  • Copy of passport/national ID,
  • Curriculum Vitae/resume,
  • Letter of Motivation,
  • Recommendation letter from your organization or someone who knows you well, and
  • color photo


AYFN will accept the application for the fully funded Winter Japan Culture Camp 2020 until 15 September 2019.
