Application Calls for 2020 Summer Design Internship (EATS) – UX Writers, San Francisco, United States

Summary 

The intern UX Writer will work on the Product Design team to create intuitive, resonant experiences for the people who use our products. S/he will use meticulously crafted language to help customers reach their goals, and will also play a role in crystallizing project vision and strategy. In addition to that, the intern will have to understand their audience and make decisions that reflect their best interests.

Responsibilities 

The ideal appointee will be doing the following tasks

• Writing interface copy in our apps, which not only propel digital experiences but also physical ones.
• Experiencing what it takes to write for millions of users – and maybe teach us something too.
• Creating a compelling content strategy that allows content to scale globally. Also, using metrics and research to inform and validate their work.
• Collaborating with designers, engineers, product managers, product marketers, and many others to bring their creations to life.
• Partnering with legal and localization to ensure the creations are appropriately and responsibly launched.
• Working closely with the research team to get outside the office and better understand the needs of the Uber family (eaters, couriers, and restaurant partners).

Requirements 

Candidates must have the following qualification in order to be eligible for 2020 Summer Design Internship in Uber, United States

• Active enrollment in, or recent graduate from, an accredited degree program.
• A growing portfolio of writing samples.
• Whether it’s the web, app, or elsewhere, candidates must have at least one project in the portfolio that demonstrates their ability to write UI elements.
• Candidates must be able to express your ideas clearly in (very concise) writing.
• A desire to learn and grow as a UX writer and product designer.
