AmeriHealth Caritas Family of Companies offers paid summer internships to students enrolled in full-time undergraduate or graduate degree programs.

Summary 

The intern of AmeriHealth Caritas Summer Internships will live the mission of helping people get care, stay well and build healthy communities by having cross-departmental and functional exposure.  In addition to that, the candidate will also join the organization in building healthy communities through active service projects that support their mission.

Learning Outcomes

As an AmeriHealth Caritas intern, the candidates will learn about the health care industry, the Medicaid and Medicare plans, pharmacy benefits management and behavioral health care as well as how AmeriHealth Caritas is working to improve access to health care for all Americans. The student will also learn the importance of accurate information to support access to healthcare, encouragement of healthy living and overall communications with the Medicaid population.

Role 

As part of an enterprise initiative to redesign all the Plan websites, the intern will be helping PA Communications review, test links, phone numbers and attachments of the redesigned PA Plan websites. Moreover, it is estimated there will be approximately 2,000 web pages for members and providers that will need to be reviewed for 5 Lines of Businesses (LOBs).

Requirements 

  • Students pursuing majors in Communications, Advertising, Marketing or related field preferred. Rising Senior also preferred.
  • Candidates must have an enrollment in the college degree program and have already completed the first year of college (rising Sophomore) by the start of the summer internship program.
  • Undergraduate candidates must be working toward a 2-year or 4-year degree. College graduates interested in an internship must have full-time enrollment in a post-graduate program or professional school (e.g. master’s program, law school) at the start of the internship program.
  • Candidates must have an overall GPA of 2.5 or higher on a 4.0 GPA scale. In addition to that, candidates must have unrestricted work authorization.
  • Detail-oriented with project tracking skills. Interest in web design is desirable.
