Job description: 

The Summer WPY Intern in the Department of Community Service at Brandeis University will assist with a variety of organizational tasks (below) that advance the mission and impact of the department. Additionally, this valuable team member will have the opportunity to connect with colleagues across campus in support of key responsibilities, as well as professionally network with departments that relate to their interests and career goals. Likewise, this position will provide our intern access and opportunity to explore the field of higher education both personally and professionally.

Furthermore, through hands-on experiences, students will develop a deeper understanding of the core principles of community engagement and community organizing and is an ideal fit for students considering a variety of social impact professions and are interested in identifying their personal strengths and interests.

Duties

  • Assist with the coordination of the Gateway Scholars (international Students) Day of Service and VolunteerFest. That includes securing volunteer sites, coordinating event logistics, preparing ‘Social Justice Content Folders’, and other tasks as necessary.
  • Additionally,  the incumbent will work collaboratively with the Hiatt Career Center, WPY, and Waltham High School.
  • Also, update and enhance all departmental marketing strategies including website, social media platforms, and student testimonials and publications.
  • Also, the candidate will explore additional tasks based on the current needs of the position.
  • Furthermore, professional networking opportunities with campus and community partners.
