Are you passionate about making a meaningful impact in international development? The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea, is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Common Service Associate to join its team. This critical role supports the smooth functioning of UNDP’s operations by providing essential administrative, financial, and logistical services.

As a Common Service Associate, you will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals, contribute to key development initiatives, and help strengthen UNDP’s mission of promoting sustainable growth in Papua New Guinea. Your responsibilities will include ensuring compliance with organizational policies, processing financial transactions, coordinating procurement activities, and assisting in event and asset management.

Duties and Responsibilities for Common Service Associate 

  1. Operational Strategies: Ensure compliance with UNDP rules, support cost-saving initiatives, and assist in workplan preparation.

  2. Finance & Admin Support: Process payments, manage documents, create e-requisitions, and assist in audits and reporting.

  3. Operations & Logistics: Support procurement, event coordination, asset management, and building maintenance.

  4. Knowledge Sharing: Contribute to staff training and knowledge networks.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Education:
    • Minimum of Secondary education with specialized certificate in administration, finance or relatable.
    • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance or relatable is desirable but not a requirement and will be given due consideration.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 6 years (with secondary education) or 3 years (with bachelor’s degree) experience in administration, management and finance.
    • Experience in finance, or support services is an advantage.
    • Experience in report writing
    • Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc.).
    • Experience with web-based ERP systems an advantage.
  • Desirable Skills 
    • Working knowledge in ERP such as Quantum
    • Experience in the UN or international organization
  • Required Language
    • Flueny in English
