ICT Assistant 2025 (Nationals Only) – Apia, Samoa Opportunity

The 2025  ICT Assistant NPSA-5 position is now open exclusively for nationals in Apia, Samoa, offering a unique and exciting opportunity for individuals with a strong background in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) to contribute to impactful projects. As a key member of the ICT team, the successful candidate will be integral to supporting and enhancing the organization’s ICT operations. This position provides the chance to work in a dynamic and collaborative environment, where you will assist in ensuring the seamless integration of technology tools and systems across various organizational functions.

In this role, you will be responsible for delivering essential technical support, assisting users with information management tools, and maintaining the technology infrastructure. The ICT Assistant will work closely with other UN agencies housed in the One UN House, as well as with UNDP Operations, Programme, and Project teams within the Multi-Country Office (MCO), ensuring that ICT-related issues are promptly addressed and resolved. The position also involves providing administrative support to the ICT unit, helping to optimize workflow and efficiency.

The successful candidate will be expected to promote a client-oriented approach to ICT services, responding to the needs of internal and external stakeholders with professionalism and expertise. Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide ICT and administrative support services to the ICT unit under the supervision of the ICT Associate.
  • Offer daily technical assistance to users of information management tools and technology infrastructure.
  • Promote a client-oriented approach in delivering ICT support.
  • Collaborate closely with UN agencies within the One UN House, UNDP Operations, Programme and Project teams, and UNDP HQ staff to resolve ICT-related issues.
  • Work across units, functions, and teams to enhance horizontal collaboration, supporting UNDP’s portfolio approach in addressing changing business needs and achieving strategic goals.

Required Skills and Experience for ICT Assistant 2025

Education:
  • Secondary education is required with formal training in IT systems, business software and/or web-based applications.
Experience:
  • Minimum of 5 years (with Secondary education) of relevant working experience in network administration, web design, providing technical support for hardware/software or cloud ERP environments, working with telecommunications facilities; and applying knowledge of database applications, web-based management systems, and cloud infrastructure solutions.
  • Familiarity working in Microsoft Office 365.
