Organization:  Technology Bank for the Least Developed Countries

The UN Technology Bank for the Least Developed Countries (TBLDCs) internship is for a period of two months commencing as soon as possible, with an opportunity for extension up to a maximum of six months depending on the needs of the Technology Bank. Responsibilities

Daily responsibilities will depend on the individual’s background, the intern’s assigned program as well as the internship period. Duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist in drafting and preparing background documents, reports, issue briefs, talking points, articles, presentations, etc.
  • Additionally, attend and summarize conferences and meetings.
  • Support organization of meetings and conferences, side events to strengthen strategic engagement with UN system partners.
  • Also, assist in data collection of science, technology, and innovation practices.
  • Conduct research and provide analysis on science, technology, and innovation and sustainable development issues.
  • Similarly, support research on technology needs assessments and related topics.
  • Assist in maintaining databases.
  • Also, support the review of key publications.
  • Likewise, assist in preparing training and learning events and other capacity-building initiatives for science, technology, and innovation.

Qualifications

Education

To qualify for an internship with the United Nations Internship Programme, applicants must meet one of the following requirements: a)enroll in a graduate school program (second university degree or equivalent, or higher);

b)Likewise, be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum Bachelor’s level or equivalent); or

c)Also, have graduated with a university degree (as defined above) and, if selected, must commence the internship within a one year period of graduation;

Also, be computer literate in standard software applications.

Work Experience

Applicants must not have professional work experience for participation in the Programme.
