Details

Paid UMM Internship is available for application. The University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) Indonesia is awarding and administering the UMM Internship Grant. The opportunity aims to provide a unique opportunity for
postgraduates to gain valuable international experience in Indonesia.

The Grant will be for a period of 20 weeks (one semester), and can be proposed by interns with recommendation from the department/faculty to be extended to another 20 weeks. Interns will be responsibly engaged in institutionally approved projects that are meaningful to both the UMM and the intern’s learning and development. Duties may include but not limited to:

  • attending Indonesian language class, Teaching strategy course and Research
  • Also, learning to teach suitable department(s) at UMM
  • supporting UMM’s academic and non-academic (cultural) functions
  • likewise, supporting UMM’s internationalization
  • reporting on learning to teach assessment forms completed by students and supervisor/co-teacher
  • similarly, reporting on development outcomes

The UMM Internship Grant covers

  • UMM Internship Grant IDR 4.000.000 /Month
  • Indonesian language course (Certificates available)
  • Practical teaching strategy course and research (Certificates available)
  • Cultural immersion as well as International forum

Eligibility

In order to receive the internship, you must

  • be a non-Indonesian citizen
  • recently completed a postgraduate degree
  • have field of study offered in the Grant
  • in addition, be available for the full internship period
  • have commitment to rules applied in UMM
  • furthermore, have multi-culturally understanding traits

Moreover, applicants who have not been to Indonesia are preferred.

Applying

In order to apply, you need to submit the application form before the deadline. The selection process is highly competitive with a limited number of awards available. Applications should be thorough and demonstrate the applicant’s qualifications and suitability against the relevant criteria. Short-listed applicants need to give a telephone-interview. If successful, you need to

  • complete a Letter of Statement (sent to IRO-UMM) declaring that the applicant complies with the conditions of the Grant
  • contact IRO-UMM to arrange Indonesian visa
  • Be at UMM before an Orientation Day
