UN Women Programme Analyst: Women’s Economic Resilience, Cox’s Bazar – NOA Contract
Join UN Women as a Programme Analyst for Women’s Economic Resilience and Livelihoods in Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh. In this role, you will contribute to enhancing economic opportunities and resilience for women in vulnerable communities. This is a fixed-term contract under the NOA level, offering an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact in one of the most dynamic and challenging humanitarian settings.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Programme Strategy Development: Contribute to designing and formulating strategies and proposals related to Women’s Economic Resilience and Livelihoods, including technical inputs for UN Women’s economic empowerment strategy.
Programme Implementation and Management: Support workplans, monitor activities, manage proposals, review financial and narrative reports, and train partners on Results-Based Management.
Capacity Building: Provide technical support and training to partners, identify opportunities for capacity development, and oversee programme activities.
Monitoring and Reporting: Track programme progress, monitor implementation, and provide inputs for quarterly, donor, and other reports.
Financial and People Management: Monitor budgets, provide inputs for financial reports, and supervise Programme Associates and Assistants.
Resource Mobilization and Partnerships: Contribute to resource mobilization strategies, maintain information databases, and provide inputs for project summaries and donor profiles.
Inter-Agency Coordination: Support coordination efforts within the Livelihoods and Skills Development Sector and provide technical input to inter-agency activities.
Advocacy and Knowledge Management: Assist in advocacy efforts, organize events, and contribute to knowledge products on Women’s Economic Resilience and Livelihoods.
Other Duties: Perform additional tasks as needed for the efficient functioning of the office and organization.
Supervisory/Managerial Responsibilities: Lead a team of two staff, including one Gender Officer and one Programme Associate.
Required Skills and Experience for UN Women Programme Analyst
Education and certification:
Master’s degree or equivalent in social sciences, human rights, gender/ women’s studies, international development, economics, or a related field is required.
A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
A project/programme management certification (such as PMP®, PRINCE2®, or MSP®) would be an added advantage.
Experience:
At least 1 year of relevant work experience in development programme/project implementation, coordination, monitoring and evaluation, donor reporting and capacity building is required.
Experience in women’s economic resilience and livelihoods programming is desirable.
Experience coordinating and liaising with government agencies and/or donors is desirable.
Language Requirements:
Fluency in English, and Bengali is required;
Working knowledge of Chittagonian or Rohingya is desirable.
Knowledge of other UN languages is desirable (French, Arabic, Chinese, Russian or Spanish).
