Model United Nations (MUN) is an educational simulation or academic activity in which students can learn about politics, debate, public speaking, and foreign policy. Furthermore, Delegates, assigned to different countries, debate various topics, eventually producing a written resolution(s) much like the United Nations itself does. Additionally, H-MUN is an all-around educational experience, not solely in the Model UN field. Further, through the topic, allows delegates to educate themselves on a very relevant and important issue facing the world today; for H-MUN II the chosen topic is the Yemen Crisis. At Hinsdale, ALL net proceeds go to a relevant UN Agency.

Further, H-MUN conference will consist of two days of formal debate and collaborative work time in an effort to publish a resolution. Hinsdale Model United Nations is a charitable Model United Nations conference that is based in the Hinsdale area. In Addition, The topic brings awareness to a crisis in the world and all net proceeds are donated to a relevant UN Agency​.

H-MUN Mission:

Moreover, The main mission is providing support to the humanitarian crisis today. Additionally, they are doing this by engaging students in world politics to prevent the crisis for the future. Moreover, It is the best way for prospective MUN members to prepare for tryouts as well as a way for skilled delegates to gain more experience over the summer. It is a two-day event at the Hyatt Hotel Lodge – McDonald’s Campus.

  • Disarmament and International Security Committee (DISEC)

Awards:

While Model UN is not a competition, we like to award those that demonstrate exemplary behavior both outside of and during the conference.
