Committees and Topics for MaMUN 2022

Committees discuss a single issue and are run by two chairpeople. The topics below are recommendations of the secretariat. However, they can be changed upon a discussion with the USG Academics in mid-January.

• UNHRC – slave trade and refugee smuggling in Libya (30 delegates, beginner)
• WTO –  e-commerce and digital trade (30 delegates, beginner/intermediate)
• NATO – Russia-Ukraine border conflict  (30 delegates, intermediate)
• Historical UNSC – 1980: Soviet intervention in Afghanistan  (15 delegates, intermediate/expert)
• OPEC – global energy crisis (15 delegates, intermediate/expert)

Responsibilities of Chair

• preparing study guides;

• reading position papers and providing feedback to delegates;

• attendance of all committee sessions (tentative schedule) as well as chair meetings before and throughout the conference.

Note that the chair application is open until 15th January 2022.

Except for transportation, the chairing experience at MaMUN 2022 is fully funded. The small participation cost will cover Meals and drinks (including at both socials). Chairs travelling to Mannheim will be staying in an Airbnb apartment or hotel.

Fees

•  55  EUR (early bird, until January 31st or until limited offer runs out);
