The University of St Andrews is Scotland’s first university and the third oldest in the English-speaking world, founded in 1413. Over six centuries it has established a reputation as one of Europe’s leading and also, most distinctive centers for teaching and research.

Moreover, the University of St Andrews Model United Nations Club was founded circa 2002 and has been an active society both locally and internationally. Also, the first annual SaintMUN Conference was successful on October 18th-20th, 2013. Further, the students and members of the MUN Society will continue to emulate the St Andrean spirit in all the events we plan and participate in: Ever to Excel.

Rules of Procedure

Rule 1 Provisional Agenda

• The provisional agenda for a regular session shall be drawn up by the Chairpersons to all delegates at least thirty days before the opening of the session.

Rule 2 Crisis Sessions

• The provisional agenda for a crisis session shall consist only of those items proposed for consideration in the request for the holding of the session.

Rule 3 Additional Items

• During a crisis session, additional items may be to the agenda by a two-thirds majority of the members present and voting.

Rule 4 Study Guides

• Any item proposed for inclusion in the agenda shall be accompanied by a study guide/explanatory memorandum for crisis sessions and also, if possible, by basic documents.

Rule 5 Adoption of the Agenda

• At the beginning of each session, Members present shall vote on adopting the agenda. The adoption of the agenda shall be introduce by a motion to set the agenda including the order of topics. Further, there shall be one speaker in favor and one speaker against the motion. Also, The speaking time shall be to one minute. This is a procedural matter and also,  thus it requires a simple majority with no abstentions.
