2024 One Million Leaders Asia (OML) Fellowship Program (Remote)

One of the main initiatives of NELIS, or the Next Leaders’ Initiative for Sustainability, is the (OML) Fellowship Program. Since 2022, it has operations in Africa, Asia, Latin America, and the Middle East and North Africa, or MENA. Enthusiastic youth from the four regions are given the OML Fellowship each year by the OML Fellowship Programme.

Every year, OMLAS seeks out young Asian talent and grants them an OMLAS Fellowship. In addition to receiving two months of instruction in topics including social entrepreneurship, sustainability, social innovation, and transformative leadership, they also receive assistance in carrying out community projects. Fellows have the opportunity to continue working with young leaders in Asia, Africa, Latin America, and MENA (Middle East and North Africa) after completing the Fellowship Programme by becoming members of the OMLAS Alumni community.

This second tier of young leaders Champions, and each Fellow is expected to build a team of at least 20 Champions (50 in OMLA). In this phase, Fellows will also be provided with a series of Masterclasses on key sustainability topics, while they lead the training with their Champions.
  • ACT-FOR-CHANGE: Fellows enter into a project implementation phase in collaboration with the team they built in Phase 2. Based on a rigorous screening process, selected fellows will be able to do their own projects to innovate around key sustainability challenges in their communities with a micro-grant from NELIS. Fellows may propose themes based on what they perceive to be key social and environmental challenges in their community or country.
