Applications call for African Liberty Writing Fellowship Program

To connect Africans with the ideas that create prosperity through media advocacy, research, discussions, and debates. African Liberty works to educate a new generation of African thought leaders and analysts in adopting a viewpoint that addresses the rights and dignity of every individual regardless of ethnicity, race, gender identity or Africanness. And to build a network of young Africans trained to cultivate the skillsets and passion necessary to usher Africa’s prosperity through the media.

Aim

The African Liberty Writing Fellowship program aims to identify promising freedom-minded African writers and provide them with the skills necessary to be successful in op-ed writing. Accepted applicants will complete a 5-week mandatory online course after which all candidates will be evaluated. The top twenty candidates will be recommended for admission as writing fellows.

Successful fellows will receive the following opportunities

  • Training and mentorships by international editors
  • Opportunity to work with think-tanks in the USA
  • Bylines in local and international media
  • Monthly stipends for articles published

Requirements

  • The African Liberty Writing Fellowship is open to all aspiring and current writers in the continent Africa
  • The candidates must complete the online application form.
  • Out of all applicants, the top 50 applicants will get admission into the program for intensive online 5 weeks training.
  • Furthermore, the top 20 candidates will undertake a year long fellowship with the African Liberty.
