The Faculty of Culture and Society at the Auckland University of Technology offers AUT Postgraduate Scholarships in eligible programs. AUT provides these scholarships to encourage postgraduate study and research as well as to recognize student’s academic achievement.

Further, the university has earned a reputation among international students. Auckland University of Technology ranking in the 301-350 by Times Higher Education is a testament in itself. Further QS World Ranking also put AUT within its top 500 Universities. Moreover, the university ranks in the 1st position in Australia and New Zealand region.

Moreover, there are several Auckland University of Technology courses where the postgraduate scholarships are applicable. Also, the scholarships are open to international students.

What benefits can you get from AUT postgraduate Scholarship?

The scholarship consists of tuition fees as well as student services levies of up to a maximum of $9,250 for 120pts at Level 8 or above study program. The successful candidates will receive the stipend for a maximum time period of 12 Months. In case, where students require full tuition fee plus stipend, a stipend of $5,000 will be available. The less amount ($4250) is deductible as tuition fee.

Who is eligible for AUT Postgraduate Scholarships?

Eligible students for the scholarships should be a full-time student at Auckland University of technology taking postgraduate courses at the university. Several courses are eligible for the scholarships, however, the course should be one eligible to the faculty of culture and society.

Moreover, the students need to meet the following list of criteria before applying for the scholarships at the Auckland University of Technology.

  • The Postgraduate Scholarship is available to full-time students undertaking study at Level 8 or above.
  • Students must demonstrate high achieving potential.
  • The Scholarships are available to recent AUT students and alumni and graduates from other NZ universities. Moreover, the students should enroll in one of the AUT programs: A Postgraduate Diploma or A one year AUT Honours program
  • However, Fourth year Law and Engineering students are not eligible to apply

How To apply for Scholarships at the Auckland University of Technology?

Applicants must complete the AUT Postgraduate Scholarship Application online available through the AUT Scholarships Database. Applications will open in October of the year preceding study for Semester 1 study or May for study in Semester 2.

The following documentation must be received on or before the closing date.

  • A one-page personal statement outlining the applicant’s academic goals and career aspirations stating why they believe they merit the scholarship.
  • If the applicant is applying under the category Māori or Pacific they must outline their cultural involvement.
  • The personal statement should also attach an outline of recent leadership positions or responsibilities held within the University or community.
  • If an applicant wishes to be considered under the Financial Hardship category they must address this in their personal statement. Further, they must upload evidence of their financial position i.e. an IRD statement of income.

Deadline

The Auckland University of Technology invites application from May for semester 2. Further, the application for the scholarships is open for six weeks after the first announcement. Hence, the students must apply for the AUT Postgraduate scholarships before the deadline set as June 9, 2019.
