Frank and Doris Bateson Memorial Graduate Scholarship is  for Masters degree in the field of Astronomy, Astrophysics. You can apply to this scholarship here. Moreover, The University of Canterbury in Christchurch is New Zealand’s second-oldest university. It was found in 1873 as Canterbury College, the first college of the University of New Zealand. Its original campus was in the central city, but in 1961 when it became an independent university. Further,  it also began moving out of its original neo-gothic buildings, which were as the Christchurch Arts Centre. The university now operates its main campus in the suburb of Ilam and offers degrees in Arts, Commerce, Education (physical education), Engineering, Fine Arts, Forestry, Health Sciences, Law, Music, Social Work, Speech also Language Pathology, Science, Sports Coaching and Teaching.

Eligibility

• The applicant can be a domestic or international student
• Applicant must be applying or enrolled in a postgraduate astrology or Astrophysics program at the university
• The recipients of the award permit publication and announcement of their acceptance, and must be willing to engage in UC community activities, such as student mentoring, acting as UC ambassadors, and being with UC publicity as appropriate.
• At the end of the tenure, the recipient must provide a report for the Trustees on how the scholarship helped them and accomplishments during the tenure.
• In case the recipient withdraws from the course for which the scholarship is award.  Therefore, the scholarship is award, the scholarship will be withdrawn, and funds may recover.
• A recipient of the award can apply again in subsequent years and would be consider on an equal basis with other applicants.
