Apply now for the fully funded Wells Mountain Initiative Scholars Program for 2022. The Wells Mountain Initiative (WMI) was initiated in 2005 with the sponsorship of a single scholar from Kopeyia, Ghana. Through the commitment of the organization and its sponsors, the organization was able to increase its support to eight students from Ghana and Senegal by 2006. To this day, they have continued to support recipients from different countries who have gone ahead to benefit and realize their dreams. Currently, Wells Mountain Initiative supports scholars from over 42 countries with 185 scholars currently studying and 161 graduate scholars.

Each year WMI provides support to students as they pursue various educational objectives. Support is provided for post-secondary school (university, polytechnic, trade school). Financial support is primarily to cover tuition and school fees and directly related expenses including books and supplies. on Their part, selected applicants and Beneficiaries should play their role throughout and after benefiting from the scholarship, as indicated below.

  • Maintain good grades in all university studies ​
  • Be an ambassador for community service and engagement
  • Perform, record and document 100 hours of community service activities throughout the​ ​year​
  • Complete the Academic Semester Report & Community Service Report for WMIScholars ​
  • Send official semester transcripts twice a year​
  • Communicate with the Student Scholar Coordinator openly regarding your situation as a student

Financial Benefit from Wells Mountain Initiative Scholars

Once selected for the program, you will receive the following benefits:

  • Scholars will receive funding for the full cost of attendance that is not already covered by other financial aid and the expected family contribution. This will be determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), or the methodology used by a Scholar’s college or university.
  • You will get coverage the cost of attendance includes tuition, fees, room, board, books, and transportation, and may include other personal costs.

Eligibility Required for Wells Mountain Initiative Scholars

In order to apply, you must full fill the following application conditions:

  • You must have successfully completed secondary education, with good to excellent grades
  • All applicants must be 35 years so age or under by the date of March 1, 2022
  • Eligible applicants are those who have demonstrated passion and commitment to giving back to their community through volunteering
  • Candidates will be studying in their home countries or any other country in the developing world
  • You must be applying to pursue or are pursuing your first bachelor’s degree or diploma at a higher institution in a developing country
  • The undergraduate program you are enrolled in must have the ability to benefit the community and/or contribute to the continued growth and advancement of your country and community
  • You must have plans to live and work in his or her own country after graduation to contribute to its development.

Application Details

Interested candidates will have to submit their applications until March 1, 2022. Please note that applications will open officially on December 1.  Along with your online application form, you will need the following documents

  • Firstly, A Clear personal photo
  • Secondly, You will have to submit an easy Essay on a topic stated on the application form
  • Thirdly, You will need to fully complete your 2021 application form
  • Additionally, A Personal essay statement
  • All applicants will need 2 recommendation letters from 2 referees
  • You will need to submit all your previous academic documentation including the following
  • An official transcript of grades from secondary school
  • The official grading key to interpret secondary school grades
  • Official transcript of grades from tertiary studies (if applicable)

  • An official results from your national exam
  • Lastly, The official grading key to interpret scores on your national exam
