Founded in 1956, the University of South Florida (USF) is a major public research university. The Tampa campus serves more than 41,000 students and houses 14 colleges and is the doctoral-granting campus of the USF System. It is the fourth-largest public research university in the state of Florida. As well as being a Space Grant University, USF is ranked in the top tier of research universities by the Carnegie Foundation. Times Higher Education ranks USF within 250 in world universities ranking. With the academic session of 2020 coming close, the University of South Florida invites applicants for fully funded Green scholarship.

Being one of the top-ranked universities and a high research output result, the USF attracts students from all over the world. As such, the USF also offers several scholarships for international students on the basis of needs as well as merit. Among the merit-based scholarship, University of South Florida offer fully funded Green Scholarship which values up to $48,000.

Eligibility for the Green Scholarship at University of South Florida

Recipients of the fully funded Scholarship are on the basis of academic merit. While deciding for a scholarship, the selection panel uses academic performance indicators to assess incoming Freshman. These include a combination of ACT and/or SAT scores, plus GPA. Further, the applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Applicants should be able to demonstrate high academic competitiveness.
  • High GPA and SAT’s score will also bolster the chance of getting in.
  • Likewise, active participation in extra curricular activities.
  • Involvement in community service and leadership enabling platforms.
  • Applicants should be highly talented and eager to learn relentlessly.
  • Similarly, applicants should be full of creative ideas and innovative mindset.

Further, the University of South Florida awards USG Green and Gold Scholarship based on GPA and SAT/ACT Scores.

USF Green & Gold Presidential Award

Scholarship Value: $48,000 (up to $12,000 per year)

4.00+ GPA and 1340+ SAT (Evidence-Based Reading/Writing and Math) or 29+ ACT

USF Green & Gold Directors Award

Scholarship Value: $36,000 (up to $9,000 per year)

3.80+ GPA and 1280+ SAT (Evidence-Based Reading/Writing and Math) or 27+ ACT

USF Green & Gold Scholar Award

Scholarship Value: $24,000 (up to $6,000 per year)

3.60+ GPA and 1210+ SAT (Evidence-Based Reading/Writing and Math) or 25+ ACT

How to apply for the Green Scholarship at the University of South Florida

The University of South Florida doesn’t provide a separate application to apply for the Fully Funded Green Scholarship. Moreover, the university considers eligible students for the scholarship automatically.

However, the students must apply for admission at the University. In order to apply for admission, the candidates can either use Common Application or University of South Florida Application Portal. The application portal guides students through the application process.

Additionally, applicants need to submit the following documents:

  • The University of South Florida writing supplements
  • Guidance Counselor Evaluation
  • High School Transcripts
  • Mid-year reports
  • Teacher’s recommendation (at least 2)
  • SAT scores
  • English Proficiency Test Scores i.e. TOEFL/IELTS

Deadline

The University of South Florida accepts the admission application until 15 January 2020.
