The Australian public research university La Trobe University calls applications for the Knee Injury Rehabilitation Research Scholarship. Through this scholarship, the university aims to gather qualified Ph.D. candidates to participate in the research that aims to improve outcomes following a knee injury and reconstruction. This scholarship at La Trobe University is a fully-funded opportunity for students who are keen on studying the effect of exercise-therapy on optimizing knee symptoms and quality of life and preventing osteoarthritis after anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury and reconstruction. Basically, the Candidate will work under the supervision of Professor Kay Crossley and Dr. Adam Culvenor within the La Trobe Sport and Exercise Medicine Research Centre.

Funding/Benefits

The La Trobe Research Scholarship for three and a half (3.5 years) years. These research scholarships serve opportunities to work with La Trobe’s outstanding researchers and have access to our suite of professional development programs. In addition to that, the scholarship is worth a value of $27,596.00 per annum, to support your living costs (2019 rate). Furthermore, international candidates will also get a fee-relief scholarship (LTUFFRS) for four years to undertake a Ph.D. at La Trobe University.

Requirements 

  • Masters by research degree in a relevant discipline completed within the last ten years assessed at a La Trobe Masters by research standard of 75 or above; or
  • an Honours degree, Masters by coursework or ungraded Masters by research degree completed within the last ten years with an average mark of 70 or above across any coursework subjects.

Furthermore, any of the following assessed at a La Trobe Masters by research standard of 75 or above

  • a research thesis of approximately 15,000-20,000 words.
  • the degree includes a written research component comprising at least 3/8 of one year.
  • lead author of a peer-reviewed publication or other research published within the last ten years.
