Indian National Science Academy, a premier scientific organization in India announces fully-funded INSAJRD TATA Fellowship 2020 in India for students from developing countries. The TATA Group administrates the INSAJRD TATA Fellowship in honor of the late JRD Tata, visionary and a leading industrialist. Moreover, the Fellowship aims to extend facilities of the advanced scientific infrastructure expertise of India to scientists and researchers of developing countries. Furthermore, the Fellowship established from an Endowment received from Sir Dorabji Tata Trust will foster advanced research training of scientists from the developing world and promote south-south co-operation.

Funding

This is the fully funded position. The Fellowship Applications will be open and assess twice a year in May and November by a selection committee. The Fellowship covers return airfare from place of work in their home country to place of work in India, boarding and lodging at the affiliated institution/s. In addition to that, an adequate allowance in Indian currency is also available to cover incidental expenses. Generally, the maximum period of award will be for three months.

Eligibilities 

  • This program is open to candidates from developing countries other than India. In addition to that, s/he must hold a valid passport of the country of his/her residence.
  • Candidates musty be possessing Doctorate or Master’s Degree in Science or equivalent degree in Engineering/ Medicine and allied disciplines.
  • Must not be over 45 years of age.
  • Furthermore, should have an affiliation with a scientific or academic institution in a developing country other than India.

In addition to the application, candidates must also submit the following documents

  • A detailed curriculum vitae containing the date of birth & age, applicant’s research interest and experience, publications (only those in referred journals), present position, scientific affiliations, awards, and scholarships, etc.
  • A brief write-up describing the proposed research work.
  • Two passport size photographs.
  • Copy of degree certificate for the highest qualification as well as a letter of consent from the Parent Institution.

Applications due on 30th April and 31st October of every calendar year.
