If you’re an international student from an African nation and are self-funding your postgraduate studies, you could be eligible for a scholarship of £4,000. Further,  paid as a discount on your tuition fee. If you are from any of the following countries, please check the academic requirements below to see if you could be eligible. Also, The University of Essex is a public research university in Essex, England. Further, It was established in 1963, welcomed its first students in 1964 and received its Royal Charter in 1965.

Moreover, Essex was named the University of the Year at the Times Higher Education Awards in November 2018. Essex’s largest campus is the Colchester Campus within Wivenhoe Park. Which is less than a mile (1.6 km) from Wivenhoe and two miles (3 km) from Colchester. Apart from the Colchester Campus, there is a campus in Southend-on-Sea and East 15 Acting School. Also, based at the Loughton Campus. Essex’s motto, “Thought the harder, heart the keener”, is from the Anglo-Saxon poem The Battle of Maldon.

Eligibility

Applicants of the University of Essex – Africa Scholarships in the UK, 2019 are to possess the mentioned academic requirements:

  • Ghana CGPA 3.0/4.0 or above
  • Nigeria CGPA 3/5 or above
  • Other member states of the African Union: 2:1 or above or equivalent
  •  If they have at least a 2:1 degree from a UK university except for the University of Essex . or one of the countries: Bangladesh, Canada, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Norway, Pakistan, Russia, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, USA, Vietnam.
  • Candidates applying for the University of Essex – Africa Scholarships in the UK, 2019 are to be in rank as ‘international’ for fee purposes.
  • Further, The scholarship is open to nationals of an African nation who are ordinarily resident in an African nation.
  • Students must be applying for a full-time Masters course excluding MBA starting in 2019-20.
