Apply for the Malcolm Tait Music Education Scholarship 2020 in New Zealand. The deadline for the application is 15th November 2020. The scholarship is for Masters degree.

This scholarship was instituted in 2010 with funds donated by Dr. Malcolm Tait. Malcolm Tait, an alumnus and Adjunct Professor of the University of Canterbury, has had a distinguished career in music education. Furthermore, he served on the music faculties of the University of Hawaii, Case Western-Reserve University, Ohio, and as Dean of the schools of Music at West Chester University, and East Carolina University. Additionally, his last position was as Interim Vice President for Academic Affairs at Georgia Southwestern State University.

Eligibility for Music Education Scholarship

• The scholarship shall be awarded to an applicant on the basis of merit and either financial need or the evidence of talent in the subject area.
• Additionally, it is an advantage if the studies can be allied to the work and objectives of the Te Puna Puoru National Centre for Research in Music Education (MERC).
• Likewise, each applicant should submit a statement of not more than 1,000 words in support of the application.

Value of Scholarship

• The current value of the scholarship is NZD 1,000 per annum.

Furthermore, if in any year there is no candidate deserving the scholarship, the University will gove no o award. Additionally, the University Council on the recommendation of the Selection Committee shall make this award.
