Applications are open for the two-year McDonald fellowship program for 2022 for a Master’s, Doctoral, or research program. This fellowship program is in the memory of professor Ian McDonald.
McDonald’s fellowship can be conducted virtually or at the hospital, home, or institute. This fellowship helps the candidate to that developing new expertise and networks.
Eligibility Criteria :
All candidates must:
- Be educated to postgraduate level (at least MSc, preferably Ph.D./MD) in an area relevant to multiple sclerosis
- Be citizens of a low- or middle-income country (all countries with a low, lower-middle or upper middle income as defined by the World Bank)*
- Also, Focus their research in an area relevant to multiple sclerosis
Candidates must also be in one of the following situations:
- Working or studying in a low- or middle-income country (all countries with a low, lower-middle or upper middle income as defined by the World Bank) at the time of nomination
- Working or studying in another country on a project which started within the six months prior to nomination
- Studying in another country on a project supported by an MS International Federation grant
Moreover, candidates should return to their own countries at the end of the study period where they will contribute to advancing care and research in MS.
Benefits :
Here are the benefits of the international research fellowship:
- Selected Fellow holders will receive £30,000 per year.
- Also, fellow’s institute will be receiving £2,000.
- In addition, the fellowship will also cover living and travel expenses.
Application Process:
- Before applying for the fellowship, applicants must mail the organization to discuss their research proposal in the field of multiple sclerosis.
- Complete the online application.
- Also, the institute needs to provide a supporting statement as required at the end.
- MSIF’s McDonald Fellowship bench, which includes scientists and people affected by MS, will select successful applicants.
