The Nokia Scholarships intend to encourage efficient, fast-progressing doctoral studies and research. Nokia Scholarships are granted to individuals pursuing a doctoral degree in information or telecommunications technology or in clearly related supporting scientific disciplines. Further, Scholarship can be granted for doctoral studies in a Finnish university or to a Finnish applicant for doctoral studies abroad.

The applicant must receive a commitment statement from his/her principal supervisor, who must be a professor, docent, or senior scientist at the university at which the student is pursuing their degree. The Supervisor must submit the application to the database. However, applicants may not receive the Nokia doctoral scholarship more than two times.

Benefits

Applicants successful to receive Nokia Scholarship will receive an amount of 5,000Euros payable directly to the applicants.

Eligibility

Doctoral candidates are eligible for the Nokia Scholarships if:

• They are pursuing or wish to pure their studies in information or telecommunication technology in  Finland.
• Also, Finnish applicants are eligible for the scholarship to pursue their doctoral studies abroad.
• Likewise, applicants must be in good standing regarding their academic qualifications.
• Further, applicants must produce a recommendation letter from their supervisor. The supervisor must submit a recommendation to the application database.
• However, the same doctoral applicant may not receive the Nokia Foundation Scholarships more than two times.

How to apply

Application for Nokia Scholarship opens on Agust 1, 2019. To apply for the scholarship, at first, the applicants will require to meet all the eligibility criteria. Secondly, they need to secure the letter of recommendation for the scholarship. With all the required documents, applicants will require to fill up the Nokia Scholarship Application. Deadline

Application submission for the Nokia Foundation Scholarship will begin on August 1, 2019. International, as well as domestic students, may apply for the scholarship to study in Finland by no later than September 30, 2019. Applications arriving post deadline are not eligible for the consideration of the scholarship.
