Ocean Fellowship Program in Italy. TBA21–Academy welcomes application for the first Ocean Fellowship Programme in the context of the exhibition Territorial Agency: Oceans in Transformation in Venice, Italy. The fellowship position is at Ocean Space (Venice, Italy). Moreover, the project reiterates the critical role of the oceans in respect to planetary survival by assessing the latest scientific knowledge on the effects of a wide array of human-induced interferences on marine and coastal ecosystems.

Eligibilities 

Undergraduate, Master or Ph.D. student, or a recent graduate and are specialized in one of the following fields: Art and Art History, Architecture and Spatial Research, Oceanography, Chemistry and Fluid dynamics, Political Theory and Political Science, Postcolonial Studies, Posthuman Feminist Studies, Anthropology, and Indigenous studies, Accessibility and Educational Sciences, Environmental Humanities can also for this position. However, fluent in spoken and written English. Italian is a strong plus. In addition to that, a graduate or post-graduate degree, as well as relevant experience in teaching or mentoring, is necessary for the Research Mentor.

Benefits/Funding

The Ocean Fellowship in Venice, Italy is a funded program. Moreover, the fellowship awards the total allowance of 3,000 EUR per fellow for the 3.5-month duration of the program. The allowance may be subject to tax and the fellowship status will have to determine on a case by case basis. Furthermore, candidates need to arrange travel and visa proceedings by themselves. The fellowship does not cover the travel and visa cost of the candidate.

  • Filled out an application. In addition to that, letter of motivation, in English, outlining ideas to be explored during the Ocean Fellows Programme (700 words) and indicating your period preference for joining the program (March–June) (June–September).
  • CV/resume in English (maximum 4 pages).
  • University Transcripts (optional).
  • Furthermore, names and contact details of two professionals or academic referees familiar with the research of the applicant.
