Applications are open for Paid DKFZ Fellowships in Germany 2019. The long-term goal of the German Cancer Research Center is to unravel the causes and mechanisms of cancer development and, also,  based on new insights, to develop novel tools for diagnosis, early detection, treatment, and prevention. Further, the Institute actively supports its scientists by providing advanced training tailored to their specific needs. They build on outstanding basic biomedical research, an evaluation of complex systems (systems biology), as well as efficient platforms for the translation of new findings from “bench to bedside”.The DKFZ with its more than 3,000 employees is the largest biomedical research institute in Germany.

Moreover, The institute has strong partnerships with universities, research institutes, and industry partners, both in Europe and worldwide. Further, The quality of research at the DKFZ is by the 2008 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine to Prof.also,  Harald zur Hausen and the 2014 Nobel Prize in Chemistry to Prof. Stefan Hell.  Also, The fellowships are initially offered for a duration of two years.

Eligibility

  • A qualification equivalent to a PhD or MD is a prerequisite for all applications.
  • Candidates should document their successful previous research endeavors with publications.
  • Further, The candidates should be at an early stage of their career, having held a PhD for no longer than 2 years.
  • The fellowship is not open for internal candidates unless they have started working not longer than 6 months before the application deadline.

  • The most important selection criterion is academic quality, by outstanding publications.
  • Furthermore, Other criteria that will be considered during the selection process include research prizes and awards, demonstration of mobility or successful application for research funding.
