Post-Doctoral Fellowship is available in the Department of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology at Oklahoma State University in the United States of America.

The successful candidate will work on drought and heat stress tolerance in rice and other crop plants. The participant will be involved in the planning, experimental design, method development, implementation, and data analysis of these investigations as well as in writing manuscripts. This opportunity will provide exposure to cutting-edge molecular biology, and interactions with team members consisting of inter-University/Institute and multiple disciplines.

Required

Candidates on this Post-Doctoral Fellowship position at Oklahoma State University will have the following duties

  • Ph.D. / Ed.D. in Plant Sciences/Botany/Agricultural Sciences or closely related field.
  • Must be an expert in routine molecular biology experiments such as DNA, RNA, protein isolations, Northern & Western blot analysis, PCR and qPCR, Chromatin immunoprecipitation, library construction for RNA-seq, small RNA-seq and degradomes.
  • The ability to handle large volumes of datasets such as the RNA-seq, Small RNA-seq, Chip-seq is extremely important.
  • Required skills include isolating pollen for assaying heat tolerance in crop plants.

Preferred

  • Ph.D. / Ed.D. in Plant Molecular Biology and Abiotic stress tolerance.
  • 1-2 years of postdoctoral experience in Plant stress tolerance.
  • The preferred skills include morphological and physiological phenotypic assays for stress tolerance such as growth measurements, lipid peroxidation, metabolites assays/analysis.
