Applications are open for Post Doctoral Fellowship for Inclusive Course Design, Center for Faculty Excellence at Purdue University Northwest in Indiana, United States of America. This is a full-time, 12-month appointment. A 1-year reappointment is possible but contingent on the availability of funds, business need, and successful performance.

The anticipated start date of this Post Doctoral Fellowship at Purdue University Northwest is September 27, 2021. The Postdoctoral Fellow will work with the Director of the Center for Faculty Excellence to support the development of courses and the implementation of instructional practices that promote inclusive excellence in teaching and learning.

Key Duties

The Postdoctoral Fellow’s primary responsibilities will be to:

  • Develop and facilitate a course design institute that promotes inclusive teaching practices.
  • Develop and facilitate teaching-related programming that supports inclusive teaching practices (may take the form of workshops, cohort-based programs, faculty learning communities, summer institutes or other formats).
  • Participate in and assist with the facilitation of the ACUE Course in Effective Teaching Practices.
  • Consult with faculty on teaching-related topics including instructional design, inclusive teaching practices, active/engaged learning, etc.
  • Evaluate and research the effectiveness of faculty development programs and topics related to inclusive teaching and learning.
  • Promote and support faculty engagement in the Scholarship of Teaching & Learning.
  • Initiate, develop, and manage other Center projects, as necessary.

Requirements

  • Doctorate degree (or in final stages of completing a doctoral degree) in Education, Instructional Design, or related field.
  • College-level teaching experience and/or faculty development experience.
  • Knowledge of the instructional design process and the research base related to inclusive teaching practices.
  • A background in either quantitative or qualitative research methodologies and/or evaluation.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and in a team, and manage competing project outcomes and deadlines.
