Position Summary 

The Computational Agricultural Research Lab in the Department of Plant and Soil Sciences at Oklahoma State University is seeking a postdoctoral fellow in the area of dynamic crop modeling. The successful candidate will work with a diverse, multi-disciplinary team of researchers from Oklahoma and Kansas to develop genetically and physiologically informed wheat models for a genome to phenome prediction under the NSF RII Track-2 FEC: Building Field-based Ecophysiological Genome-to-Phenome Prediction project.

This PostDoctoral Fellowship at Oklahoma State University is an 11-month, non-tenure track faculty position. Post-doc appointments are made for a term of one year or less. Reappointment for a total period of not more than three years may be made.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. / Ed.D. in agricultural sciences, soil sciences, or related discipline.
  • Experience with dynamic, process-based modeling and statistical modeling.
  • Experience working with ordinary differential equation models.
  • Previous experience using the Stan probabilistic programming language.
  • Knowledge of crop physiology.
  • Expertise in Bayesian analysis and parameter estimation.
  • Programming skills in R/Python.
  • Familiarity with genetic marker data.
  • Strong scientific communication skills.
