Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey ca Postdoctoral Fellowship for the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine within the New Jersey Medical School. The Postdoctoral Fellow participates in the vibrant research community of Rutgers – Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. This post-doctoral fellowship and graduate student training will also provide the opportunity to apply cutting-edge techniques to study the biology of cytotoxic lymphocytes and CAR-T and CAR-NK cells in the laboratory.

Key Duties

  • Study the biology of Chimeric Antigen Receptor (CAR) T and NK cells.
  • Characterize these CAR-T and CAR-NK cells for development of innovative therapies for infection and infection-related malignancies with the ultimate goal of administering them to patients as part of a future clinical trial (NIH funded).
  • Study the cell biology of NK cell, with a focus on NK cell inhibitory receptor signaling and the immunological synapse.
  • Designs, performs and analyzes experiments in molecular biology, biochemistry, cell biology, and animal studies.
  • Use molecular, biochemical, and imaging strategies, as well as biophysical approaches for understanding human lymphocyte (including CTLs and NK cells) dysfunction in chronic infectious diseases and cancers.

Requirements 

Candidates must have the following qualifications to be elligible for Postdoctoral Fellowship at Rutgers University

  • Ph.D. in a relevant field of biomedical research field (cancer or cardiovascular) and strong expertise in molecular cloning is required.
  • Background in immunology and imaging is desirable, but not required.
  • Ability to work in a lab environment, including animal handling.
