Apply for Postdoctoral Fellowship at the Indiana University School of Medicine. The Department of Biostatistics is seeking a computational postdoc at the Department of Biostatistics and Health Data Science in Indiana University School of Medicine (https://medicine.iu.edu/biostatistics).

The position will be offered as one-year appointments, renewable twice for a total of up to three years in a trainee position. It mainly focuses on developing statistical, machine learning, and deep learning methods to analyze multi-omics data (genetic, epigenetic, transcriptomic, imaging, single-cell genomics, and proteomic data) with the goal of understanding the underlying genetic architecture of complex traits and diseases.

The candidate is expected to work on developing statistical/computational methods and software for analyzing large-scale genetic and genomics data. The candidate will have opportunities to collaborate with members of the Center for Computational Biology and Bioinformatics (https://medicine.iu.edu/research-centers/computational-biology-bioinformatics), as well as many departments (e.g., Cancer, Genetics, Neurology, Immunology) at Indiana University School of Medicine.

Qualifications

In order to be eligible for this Postdoctoral Fellowship at the Indiana University School of Medicine, candidates must have the following qualifications

  • A doctorate or terminal degree is necessary.
  • Ph.D. degree in Statistics/Biostatistics, Bioinformatics, Computer Science, or other relevant disciplines, with a strong quantitative research background.
  • Proficiency in one or multiple of the popular programming languages, e.g., R, Python.
  • Experience in working with next-generation sequence data analysis.
  • High-performance computing.
