The University of Cincinnati Department of Chemical and Environmental Engineering calls application for Postdoctoral Fellowship in the United States of America. The positions primary focus is on metals and ceramic materials development for radiofrequency waveguide devices and molecular or ionic separators.

Duties 

The candidate at this Postdoctoral Fellowship will do the following duties at the University of Cincinnati

  • Fabricating metal conductors for RF waveguides with superior surface electric conductivity; and thermal and chemical resistances by electroplating and electroless plating techniques.
  • Synthesizing high-temperature insulation materials with desired dielectric constants and structural and chemical stability.
  • Characterizing the developed materials and testing for coaxial cable applications.
  • Working with external collaborators on waveguide device construction and demonstration.
  • Improving and maintaining experimental apparatus and safety facilities for the involved projects.
  • Analyzing experimental results, writing reports, and communicating with collaborators and sponsors.

Requirements 

Candidates must have the following qualifications in order to be eligible for this Postdoctoral Fellowship at the University of Cincinnati

  • A Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in chemical engineering, environmental engineering, or a closely related engineering area.
  • Experience of electroplating or electroless plating of metallic thin films and synthesis of zeolitic materials with controlled shapes and morphologies preferred.
  • Fluency in English (excellent scientific writing skills and oral communication).
  • Ability to organize and analyze data, and disseminate research findings in peer-reviewed journals and in conferences are essential.
  • Applicants should be present in the U.S. and be eligible to begin working upon successful background check by the University of Cincinnati and approval by the funding agency.
