A Postdoctoral Research Fellowship position is available at Boston College Schiller Institute. The Postdoctoral Research Fellow will conduct research primarily focused on the nature of interdisciplinary centers, with an emphasis on how these centers can be structured, managed, and embedded within a university culture to best catalyze cross-department and cross-college collaboration.

Position Summary

The Fellow will study and contribute to the design and operation of the Schiller Institute as it takes shape, and will be encouraged to develop and test hypotheses through the Institute. The Fellow will also assume some responsibilities related to the planning and development of the Institute, to meet its mission. In addition, the Fellow will assist the Executive Director and Director, Finance, and Operations in organizing and managing Institute activities as needed.

Requirements

Candidates must have the following qualifications for this Postdoctoral Research Fellowship at Boston College

  • Ph.D. in Organizational Behavior, Higher Education, or a related field strongly preferred.
  • Quantitative and qualitative research methods.
  • Ability to assimilate into the faculty culture at Boston College.
  • Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of the organizational structure of higher education institutions preferred.
  • Ability to read and synthesize scholarly literature from a variety of fields.
  • Ability to conduct and complete research projects, including successful publication of manuscripts in appropriate journals and presentations at relevant conferences.
