Applications are now open for the Queensland University of Technology Indigenous Scholarship. The Queensland University of Technology, abbreviated as QUT, is a public research university located in the urban coastal city of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. QUT is located on three campuses in the Brisbane area: Gardens Point, Kelvin Grove, also Caboolture. Further, the university has approximately 35,000 undergraduate students and 5,000 postgraduate students, of which 6,000 are international students. It has over 4 000 staff members, and an annual budget of more than AU$750 million. The university in its current form was found in 1989 when the then Queensland Institute of Technology (QIT) merged with the Brisbane College of Advanced Education.

Benefit

  • A one-year scholarship of $4,000, paid as $2,000 per semester, in March and August.

Eligibility

To be eligible for this scholarship you must:

  • be an Indigenous Australian or Torres Strait Islander and provide Confirmation of Aboriginality to the Oodgeroo Unit at QUT
  • Likewise, be graduating from Year 12 in 2019
  • have completed high school in Australia and be an Australian citizen
  • Also, show evidence of academic ability in high school or TAFE results
  • be starting university for the first time in Semester 1, 2020
  • Also, demonstrate a commitment to a career in business show leadership qualities.
  • Further, You must also have applied for through QTAC for a part-time or full-time place in a Bachelor of a Business single or double degree, including if you’re seeking admission through the Centralised Assessment Selection Program (CASP).

Application process

This scholarship has two application rounds

  • Round 1: closes at 11.59pm on 8 November 2019 for applicants seeking admission through QTAC (Queensland Tertiary Application Centre).
  • Round 2: closes at 11.59pm on 31 January 2020 for applicants seeking admission through CASP (Central Assessment Selection Program). Also, to apply for the Getting Start Scholarship, you need to complete an application form.

Send your completed application to the Business School Scholarships Coordinator by the due date.
