The Rotatory Foundation”(TRF) and IHE Delft Institute for Water Education have partnered up and are providing Scholarships to graduate students.

The strategic partnership aims to tackle the world’s water and sanitation crisis by increasing the number of trained professionals to devise, plan, and implement solutions in developing as well as emerging countries. These scholarships aim to promote long-term productive relationships between Rotarians and highly skilled water and sanitation professionals in their communities.

About Rotary

Rotary is an international organization of business, professional, and community leaders who provide humanitarian service as well as help to build goodwill and peace in the world. Today Rotary has 34,000-plus Rotary clubs, 1.2 million members volunteering their expertise, time, as well as funds to support local and international service projects.

Eligibility

To be eligible for the Rotary Scholarships you have to be admitted to the IHE Delft Institute for Water Education’s 12-month Master of Science degree program in Water and Sustainable Development. You should be within the thematic tracks of either of the following:

  • Water and Health
  • Water Resources and Ecosystem Health

Application Process for 2022-2023 Rotary Scholarships

  • Search for your nearest Rotary club after joining the master’s program.
  • Ask your Rotary club if they will nominate you for a Rotary scholarship
  • Then complete the application form by you and the Rotary Club
  • After full completion, the sponsoring Rotary Club submits your application to the Rotary/IHE Delft selection committee in The Netherlands before 15 April 2022
  • Then, the Rotary/IHE Delft selection committee will review the applications and provide the scholarship to the deserving candidates.
  • After awarding the scholarship, the sponsoring Rotary Clubs maintains contact with the scholar throughout his or her studies.
  • Finally, the scholarship program will begin after completion of the program. The scholar and sponsoring Rotarians partner on a water-related activity in the scholar’s home country. Also, Rotarians in the Netherlands involve the scholars in local cultural and Rotary-related events during their academic program.

Moreover, the financing of the successful candidates will be managed through Rotary’s Global Grant process.
