The University of Nevada, Reno is a public land-grant research university in Reno, Nevada. It was founded on October 12, 1874 in Elko, Nevada. It is home to the state’s first medical school, the University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine, with a campus in Nevada’s major urban center in Reno and a health network that extends to much of rural Nevada.
