The University of Edinburgh, founded in 1582, is the sixth oldest university in the United Kingdom and English-speaking world and one of Scotland’s ancient universities. Also, the university has five main campuses in the city of Edinburgh, which include many buildings of historical and architectural significance such as those in Old Town. The university played an important role in Edinburgh becoming a chief intellectual center during the Scottish Enlightenment, contributing to the city being nicknamed the “Athens of the North”.

To support outstanding worldwide students in the UK, the University of Edinburgh is offering the Doctoral colleges programs. The program is open to both international and domestic students.
The funding program aims to encourage all talented and deserving students who want to commence a PhD degree program for the academic session 2021/2022.
Eligibility Criteria
- Eligible Countries: Applications are accepted from around the world
- Also, PhD degree program in any subject offered by the university
- Likewise, to be eligible, the applicants must meet all the following/given criteria:
- Additionally, applicants must be of excellent academic merit and potential for science.
- Moreover, must have a UK first-class or 2:1 honors degree at undergraduate level or the international equivalent.
- Must not have already obtained a PhD, or formal equivalent, as a result of direct research training.
- How to Apply: For the award, applicants have to take admission in the PhD degree program at the university. After ,students can access the application form.
- Also, applications are open for all schools except School of Economics, School of Informatics, Biomedical Sciences and Molecular, Genetic and Population Health Science.
- Additionally, applicants must submit a CV, academic transcripts, passport, letter of recommendation, and other relevant documents.
- Furthermore, for taking admission, applicants must meet all the entry requirements of the university.
- However, if English is not your first language, you must provide evidence of your competence in written and spoken English.
