Stony Brook University invites application from international undergraduate students to apply for 2020 #YouAreWelcomeHere Scholarship. In recognization of excellence in leadership skills, the university is honoring two first-year international students with a vision for enhancing intercultural understanding. Awardees will be offered an annual, renewable scholarship to cover 50% of their tuition (currently $12,370 USD per year).

Stony Brook University International Undergraduate Scholarship

The selection committee at the Stony Brook University will conduct a holistic review of international applicants applying for the undergraduate scholarship. In doing so, the committee will consider academic fitness at Stony Brook, a history of activities involving intercultural learning, leadership experiences, goals and aspirations, essay/video quality, and creativity of their submission.

The selection committee will reward two first-year international students with a partial scholarship to cover 50% of their tuition (currently $12,370 USD per year) who fits the scholarship guideline.

Eligibility for the Stony Brook University International Undergraduate Scholarship

The Stony Brooks University considers a student eligible for the international undergraduate Scholarship if they meet the following requirements:

• Be a first-year, international undergraduate applicant to Stony Brook University for the fall 2020 semester. An international applicant is an individual who holds citizenship in a country outside the United States and who does not also possess US citizenship or permanent residency.
• Also, the student must have demonstrated leadership skills, interests and personal initiative in activities involving leadership, intercultural learning, and plans to apply these at Stony Brook University.

How to apply for Stony Brook University International Undergraduate Scholarship?

In order to apply for the partial scholarship at Stony Brook University, applicants must at first apply for the admission. Further, the candidates must submit all the required credentials including transcripts and TOEFL/SAT scores.

Only then an undergraduate student is eligible for the #YouAreWelcomeHere scholarship at Stony Brook University. While applying for the scholarship, the candidates must apply via the Stony Brook applicant portal before the deadline. Students must include a 500-1000 word essay telling about your leadership skills in your school or community. Students may also choose to make a two-to-five minute video instead. Further, the candidates must explain how they plan to continue applying your leadership skills at Stony Brook University.

Stony Brooks University accepts the admission application at the university until 15 January 2020. Candidates must send their credentials as well as apply for the scholarship before 1 February 2020
